Description | The Division of Research Grants (now the Center for Scientific Review) utilized early computer card reader technology from data input on magnetic tape. The use of these early computers provided biostatistical analysis. In 1954 A central data-processing facility was established in the NIH Office of the Director under Dr. Harold Dorn, combining EAM (punched card) equipment and biometric expertise. |
